About
In May 1983, the doors opened for CreditAmerica Savings Company, a regulated lender in Brainerd, Minnesota. In less than a year, it became chartered by the State of Minnesota as an Industrial Loan and Thrift Company with deposit-taking powers. At that time, a private insurance company insured our customers’ deposits. Growth came quickly, with a new office being opened in St. Cloud, Minnesota, in December 1984.
In January 1986, The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) began to ensure our depositors’ funds and that same year we opened branches in Fergus Falls and Alexandria. Our growth continued with the opening of the Pequot Lakes and Detroit Lakes branches in 1988, the Walker branch in 1993, a second Brainerd branch in 1997. CreditAmerica Savings was one of the fastest growing financial institutions in Minnesota.
On August 1, 2001, after completing the application process, CreditAmerica Savings state charter became a national bank charter. This new distinction was the birth of American National Bank of Minnesota.
Today, there are nine American National Bank of Minnesota branches available across the state, each branch offering exceptional products and services to meet the needs of our customers. We are indeed…raising the standard!
